Nd:YAG is a high-performance laser crystal used in solid-state laser systems. The triply ionized neodymium ions (Nd³⁺) replace yttrium ions in the yttrium aluminium garnet (YAG) crystal structure, providing excellent lasing properties for medical laser applications.
