Introduction of Chrome Steel Rod

The hardness test of chrome-plated rods should use different hardness testers according to the size of the part, the base material, the thickness of the coating, the diameter of the indentation, and the size of the load. When measuring the hardness of the coating, a Vickers micro-hardness tester is often used, and a load of 5g to 200g can be added according to the thickness to make the indentation depth reach 1/7 to 1/10 of the thickness of the coating. When the thickened chrome plating layer is greater than 100μm, it can be tested by Rockwell hardness tester.
The wear resistance is usually measured by the thickness reduction method, mass loss method, volume wear method, grinding medium consumption method, cutting thickness time method, radioisotope method, etc. The test shows that the Vickers hardness of the chromium layer in the chrome-plated rod is 7355MPa-7845MPa, which has a relatively high wear resistance. The thickness of the chrome plating layer also has a certain relationship with the wear resistance and also has an impact on the service life.
