How to Use a Lotion Pump Dispenser
-
Remove the Cap or Safety Lock
-
Most pumps have a twist-lock mechanism (turn the pump head clockwise or counterclockwise to unlock).
-
Some come with a separate cap or seal—remove it before use.
-
-
Prime the Pump (If Needed)
-
New pumps may require 3–5 presses to draw product up the dip tube.
-
If nothing comes out initially, keep pumping until lotion dispenses.
-
-
Press Down Firmly
-
Place your hand under the nozzle and press the pump head fully down (partial presses may not dispense product).
-
Release to let it spring back up.
-
-
Adjust Dispensing Amount
-
Some pumps allow adjustable dosage (e.g., half-pump for less product).
-
Standard pumps dispense 0.8–3.0ml per press.
-
-
Lock After Use (Optional)
-
To prevent accidental spills, twist the pump head back into the locked position.
-
Tips for Best Performance
✔ Store upright to ensure smooth suction.
✔ Clean clogged nozzles with warm water if residue hardens.
✔ Replace the pump if it becomes stiff or stops working.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
-
No product comes out? Check if the dip tube is submerged or prime again.
-
Leaking? Tighten the pump collar or replace the gasket.
-
Pump stuck? Loosen the cap slightly (over-tightening can cause pressure issues).
