4-144 Core Aerial Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Ground Wire OPGW

• OPGW cable is the short form of Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Ground Wire.
• OPGW cable is suit for installation on new power lines with double function of ground wire and communication, especially for installation on normal voltage and extra high voltage power lines. OPGW can replaceconventional ground wire of old power lines with increasing fiber communications function.
• OPGW cables conduct short circuit current and provide lighting resistance.
• OPGW cables are usually two structures. The central tube OPGW cable can obtain maximumoptical fiber excess length in a smallest steel tube. The diameter of stainless steel tube isbigger than that of ACSR wire and aluminum alloy wire. The stainless steel tube is placed in thecenter of the stranded structure of the OPGW cable. Stranded OPGW cable can obtain secondary excess length; the diameter of stainless steel tube is consistent with diameter of aluminum alloy wire.

Packing and Shipping

Cable is supplied in lengths as specified in PI or as requirement. Each length will be shipped on a separate iron-wooden drum. The minimum barrel diameter of the drum will not be less than 30 times the cable diameter.
The cable ends will be sealed with plastic protection caps to prevent water penetration. The ends will be easily accessible for testing. A final inspection test report with attenuation performance data for each fiber is attached inside the drum.
