SG100-R Fixed Remote Gas Detector for CH4 with 0–100%LEL Range 1%LEL Resolution and Transmitter Sensor Separation Up To 1000m
Advanced fixed remote gas detection system designed for methane (CH₄) monitoring with extended distance capability between transmitter and sensor.
A remote fixed gas detector where the sensor can be placed up to 1000 meters away from the transmitter. Ideal for duct pipelines, heavy gases (NH₃, H₂, etc.), or hard to access areas. Detects methane (CH₄) from 0–100%LEL with 1%LEL resolution using a catalytic bead sensor. Features IECEx/ATEX certification (Ex db IIC T6), IP66/IP68 protection, 3 relays (low/high/fault), 4 20mA, RS485, and LED display. Configured via non intrusive magnetic wand or remote control. Comes with mounting bracket.
The SG100-R is a gas transmitter designed for use with remotely mounted gas sensors. This configuration is ideal when the sensor must be placed in a duct, pipeline, or where the gas is heavier than air (e.g., NH₃, H₂), while the transmitter is mounted at a convenient, accessible location for viewing the display and performing configuration.
Taking methane (CH₄) as an example, the SG100-R uses a catalytic combustion sensor to measure concentrations from 0–100%LEL with a resolution of 1%LEL. Accuracy is ≤ ±2–5% FS (depending on sensor).
The transmitter connects to the sensor via RS485, supporting distances up to 1000 meters. It is compatible with hundreds of gas sensor types – catalytic, IR, electrochemical, PID, etc.
Outputs include 3 wire 4 20mA, RS485 Modbus, and 3 relay outputs (low alarm, high alarm, fault alarm). The LED display shows real time readings. Configuration is safe and non intrusive using a magnetic wand or optional remote control – no need to open the enclosure in hazardous areas.
The housing is die cast aluminum (SS316 optional). Protection rating IP66/IP68 ensures reliable operation in dusty, wet, or submerged environments. The unit is IECEx/ATEX certified with explosion proof grade Ex db IIC T6 Gb.
Methane is the primary component of natural gas. It is colorless, odorless, and highly flammable. In concentrations between 5% and 15% by volume in air, it forms an explosive mixture. The LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) of methane is 5% VOL, which corresponds to 100% LEL on the detector. Therefore, measuring 0–100%LEL directly indicates how close the atmosphere is to becoming explosive. Common sources include natural gas pipelines, landfills, coal mines, and biogas plants. The SG100 R helps provide early warning of flammable leaks, especially in remote or hard to reach locations.
