Flame-fusion sapphire crystal, also known as Verneuil-grown sapphire, is a high-purity synthetic single crystal produced through a continuous melting and crystallization process. The Morgan pink color is achieved by carefully introducing trace elements during growth, resulting in a soft, elegant pink tone with excellent optical clarity.

 

This material combines aesthetic appeal with outstanding physical and chemical properties, making it ideal for both industrial and decorative applications.


Production Principle

The flame fusion (Verneuil) method involves melting high-purity aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) powder in an oxyhydrogen flame at temperatures exceeding 2000°C. The molten droplets fall onto a seed crystal, where they solidify and grow into a cylindrical sapphire boule.

 

By adding controlled dopants (such as chromium or other trace elements), the crystal develops a Morgan pink coloration while maintaining its single-crystal structure and optical uniformity.
