    PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) is a synthetic diamond product that is produced by sintering together selected diamond particles with a metal matrix, using sophisticated technology. The diamond and matrix, when sintered together under high temperatures and pressures, creates a PCD tool blank that is high in uniform hardness and is abrasive resistant in all directions. PCD Inserts is made of PCD tips( cutting from PCD blank) and a carbide substrate.

   ① Natural diamond tool: Natural diamond as a cutting tool for hundreds of years of history, natural single crystal diamond tool after fine grinding, can grinding extremely sharp blade, blade radius of 0.002 mu m, can realize the ultra-thin cutting, can work out high precision and low surface roughness of workpiece, is accepted, the ideal and does not take the place of ultra-precision machining tools.
    ②PCD diamond tool: Natural diamond is expensive, and diamond is widely used in cutting or polycrystalline diamond (PCD). Since the early 1970s, Polycrystauine diamond (PCD) blade prepared by high temperature and high pressure synthesis technology has been developed successfully. In many cases, natural diamond tools have been replaced by man-made polycrystalline diamond. PCD is rich in raw materials and its price is only a tenth to a tenth of that of natural diamond. PCD tool can not grind out extremely sharp edge, processed workpiece surface quality is not natural can be used for non-ferrous metal and non-metallic fine cutting, it is difficult to achieve ultra-precision mirror cutting.
   ③ CVD diamond tool: since the late 1970s to the early 1980s, CVD diamond technology appeared in Japan. CVD diamond refers to the synthesis of diamond film by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on heterogeneous matrix (such as cemented carbide, ceramic, etc.). CVD diamond has exactly the same structure and characteristics as natural diamond. The performance of CVD diamond is very close to that of natural diamond. It has the advantages of both natural single crystal diamond and polycrystalline diamond (PCD), and overcomes their disadvantages to some extent.
