SMP RF Connector Introduction
The SMP interface is a small-sized connector that matches the dimensions of MMCX connectors, but it offers a wider frequency range of DC to 40GHz. The SMP interconnect series employs floating female-to-female adapters (commonly referred to as bullets) for stacking boards with SMP male PCB connectors. This sturdy construction and the ability to tolerate radial and axial misalignment enable blind interconnection solutions. It is commonly utilized in compact high-frequency coaxial modules.
Features and Benefits
Gold plated & passivated stainless steel connectors are designed to meet the industry standard per MIL-STD-348. They have a frequency range of DC - 40 GHz and can be coupled using push-on or snap coupling methods. The connectors come in both male and female options, with straight and right angle choices available. Additionally, they can be mounted using normal type or hermetic seals, either through flange mount or thread-in mount.
The plugs in these connectors come in three different interface forms: full detent, limited detent, and smooth bore (including those with braking). Custom connectors can also be provided upon request.
