SMP RF Connector Introduction
The SMP interface is a small form-factor connector that measures the same as an MMCX connector, but it has a broader frequency range of DC to 40 Ghz. The SMP interconnect series utilizes floating female-to-female adapters (commonly referred to as bullets) for stacking boards with SMP male PCB connectors. This resilient structure and capacity to tolerate misalignment in both radial and axial directions enable blind interconnection solutions. It is commonly employed in compact high-frequency coaxial modules.
Features and Benefits
The connector is designed according to the industry standard MIL-STD-348. It has a frequency range of DC to 40GHz and is made of gold plated and passivated stainless steel. The coupling can be either push-on or snap type. There are options for male and female connectors, as well as straight and right angle versions. Additionally, there are choices for normal type and hermetic seals, with flange mount and thread-in mount options. The plug comes in three interface forms: full detent, limited detent, and smooth bore (including those with braking). Custom connectors are also available upon request.
