SMP RF Connector Introduction
The SMP interface is a small form-factor connector that measures the same as an MMCX connector, but it has a broader frequency range of DC to 40GHz. The SMP interconnect series employs floating female-to-female adapters (commonly known as bullets) for stacking boards with SMP male PCB connectors. This resilient structure and capacity to tolerate misalignment in both radial and axial directions enable blind interconnection solutions. It is commonly used in compact high-frequency coaxial modules.
Features and Benefits
The SMP connector is a compact, subminiature connector that measures the same as an MMCX connector. It has a frequency range of DC to 40GHz and is made from gold plated and passivated stainless steel. The connector can be coupled using either push-on or snap coupling methods. It is available in male and female versions, straight and right angle options, normal type and hermetic seals, flange mount and thread-in mount choices. Additionally, the plug offers three interface forms: full detent, limited detent, and smooth bore (including those with braking). Custom connectors are also available upon request.
