1.25 LC MU Fiber Optic Cleaning Pen

The Optical Connector Cleaner (LC/MU) is used to clean the ferrule end face of 1.25mm connectors in adapters (intended for cleaning adapters in installed patch panels). Thanks to the appropriate guide cap, the cleaner can also be used for cleaning the ferrule end face of patch cords and pigtails.

The connector end face is cleaned by making contact with the cleaner tip. This action is followed by rotating the cleaner tip around its axis, then the cleaning thread is fed in. The cleaning thread length is enough to perform about 800 cleaning operations with one cleaner. The device features a retractable mechanism to facilitate operation in high density fiber optic distribution frames.

Why is Cleaning Important?

When mated, connector end faces have even little amounts of dirt (skin oils, dust, lotions, water residue, etc.) they will suffer not only from power degradation but also an increased probability of permanent damage.
