The concept of upgrading biogas to hydrogen has been studied for a number of years. Biogas is produced by microorganisms in an aerobic digester and is mainly composed of methane and carbon dioxide. After desulfurization, it is a renewable, clean and economical fuel.
Methane purification technology for biogas
Biogas is an environmentally friendly, clean, and inexpensive combustible gas produced by microorganisms in anaerobic environments, such as livestock manure, agricultural waste, industrial organic waste, domestic sewage, and municipal solid waste. The main constituents are methane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide. Biogas is mainly used for city gas, automobile fuel and hydrogen production.
