How does a slip ring work?
A slip ring is an electrical connection designed to pass current from a stationary device to a rotating one. This electromechanical device, also known as a rotary electrical connector, allows unlimited rotation without cable twisting or breakage. Conductor rings mount on the rotor with leadwires running axially through to one end, while brushes secured by brush holders mount to the housing. The stationary brush maintains sliding contact with the rotating conductor ring, enabling continuous electrical transmission.
