(2) Technical content

In terms of scope of application, this standard is applicable to ordinary self-priming, filter-type respiratory protective equipment that protects against various types of particulate matter, such as masks, and other special environments (such as oxygen-deficient environments, underwater operations, etc.)
From the definition of particulate matter, this standard defines various forms of particulate matter, including dust, smoke, mist and microorganisms, but does not define the size of particulate matter.

From the point of view of the filter element level, it can be divided into KN type for filtering non-oily particulates and KP type for filtering oily and non-oily particulates, and with this as a mark, it is in accordance with the N, R / P specified in the interpretation guideline of CFR 42-84-1995 similar.
