Large volume oil production downhole pumps are heavy-walled tubing pumps designed for high-volume oil extraction operations. These pumps offer superior strength compared to standard rod pumps and are engineered for demanding production environments.
Product Design & Operation
The pump barrel is installed in the well to the designed depth using tubing, followed by insertion of the plunger with sucker rods. The larger bore diameter within standard tubing sizes enables significantly higher pump rates than conventional rod pumps.
Industry Standards & Specifications
API-standard pump bore sizes range from 1 1/16" to 3 3/4" in diameter. The latest API Spec. 11AX introduces the "X-type" barrel configuration featuring thin-walled barrel ends with threads, designed exclusively for metal plungers. This innovative design eliminates the need for extension couplings, reducing burst and collapse concerns while enabling deeper production depths.
