Conductive/Non-Conductive SMT Embossed Carrier Tape for SMD Components

Introduction

Embossed carrier tapes are made from materials like polystyrene, polycarbonate, and PET, and they offer a range of conductive and anti-static properties to suit various component applications. Each tape is equipped with pockets that are meticulously shaped to fit the exact contours of the components they are intended to carry. These tapes come in widths varying from 8 to 104 mm, and we can also tailor them to meet specific customer demands.

Carrier tape specification

The entire packing process involves reels that consist of a carrier tape, a cover tape, and an external reel. Customers utilize either manual or automatic tape and reel machines to place components into the carrier tape. Simultaneously, they apply the cover tape to securely cover the components, thereby protecting and fixing them within the tape. Ultimately, the components are packed into a complete reel.

Each carrier tape is paired with a compatible cover tape. During the component packaging process, the cover tape provides options for both cold and hot sealing methods.
