API-7-1 Upper and Lower Kelly Valves for Drilling Rigs
Kelly valves, also known as kelly cocks or drill pipe safety valves, are critical components in drilling operations designed to prevent blowouts and control mud loss. These hand-operated valves maintain drilling fluid circulation without pressure loss while providing emergency shut-off capabilities.

Valve Configuration and Installation
The system includes both upper and lower kelly valves. The upper kelly cock connects between the swivel lower end and kelly upper end, while the lower kelly valve connects between the kelly and saver sub. Both valves must be installed to ensure operational safety.
Advanced Sealing Technology
Features a ball-and-seat sealing mechanism with spring-loaded lower seat support. During normal operation, the valve remains open for unobstructed flow. In emergency situations, a simple 90° turn closes the internal bore, creating a high-pressure seal between ball and seat to prevent blowouts.
