Crown Block for Drilling and Workover Rigs
The crown block is a critical component of drilling rig hoisting systems, serving as the stationary section that contains pulleys or sheaves through which the drill line is threaded. Working in conjunction with the traveling block and wire rope, this system enables lifting capacities of hundreds of thousands of pounds, with line tensions exceeding one million pounds on larger rigs.
