Reverse Circulation Junk Basket Overview
The API Standard Reverse Circulation Junk Basket is engineered to efficiently remove small debris and junk objects from drilling holes. Its innovative design eliminates the need for pulling a wet string, maintaining reverse circulation even when equipped with magnet inserts for enhanced debris collection.
Operation Procedure
- Connect the tool to the bottom of the fishing string and position it several feet above the hole bottom
- Initiate circulation to clean the hole
- Stop circulation and drop the steel ball into the valve seat
- Restart circulation - fluid travels outward and downward through inner passages, then deflects upward through return holes
- Slowly rotate while lowering the tool to cut a 10-inch core
- Cease rotation and circulation, then retrieve the tool from the hole
