High Pressure Condensate Trap VYC Stainless Steel Industrial Steam Trap Valve Floating and Thermostatic Steam Traps
The VYC 241, 243 and 244 are thermodynamic (kinetic energy) steam traps designed for draining condensate from steam lines, tracing and small equipment. The 241 is screwed, 243 is flanged, and 244 is a high-capacity version. They operate using the flash steam principle – condensate flashes to steam and closes the disc valve. These models are compact, simple, and widely used in steam distribution systems where low cost and easy installation are priorities.
- Thermodynamic disc operation – no moving mechanical parts
- Compact and lightweight design
- Works in any position (horizontal or vertical)
- High resistance to waterhammer and superheated steam
- Freeze-resistant when properly installed
- Replaceable disc and seat
- Stainless steel body and internals
- Models: 241 (screwed), 243 (flanged), 244 (high-capacity)
- Sizes: DN15 to DN25 (1/2" to 1") typical
- Maximum Operating Pressure (PMO): 40 bar g (580 psi g)
- Maximum Differential Pressure: Up to 40 bar
- Maximum Temperature: 400 °C (752 °F)
- Body Material: Stainless steel AISI 420 or 316
- Connections: Screwed BSP/NPT (241), flanged PN40/DIN (243/244)
- Discharge Mode: Intermittent (thermodynamic disc)
- Steam mains drip legs
- Steam tracing lines
- Small heat exchangers and coils
- Line drainage in medium/high-pressure steam systems
- Outdoor steam installations (freeze-resistant)
Q: Difference between 241, 243 and 244?
A: 241 is screwed, 243 is flanged standard, 244 is flanged high-capacity version.
Q: Can it handle superheated steam?
A: Yes – thermodynamic traps work well with superheated steam.
