Product Overview

When paired with gate, globe, or other multi-turn valves, the AUMA SA Series electric actuator delivers dependable torque transmission across a 10 Nm to 32,000 Nm range. It handles open-close and positioning duty with precision, using limit and torque switches for accurate end-position control.

SA-type actuators for open-close duty carry Class A and B ratings or short-time duty S2 – 15 min. An optional S2 – 30 min version is available for longer running times. These actuators work with various controls, from basic OPEN-CLOSE units to micro-controlled versions with operating data logging or fieldbus interface.

Limit and torque sensing come standard. Motor options include 3-phase AC, 1-phase AC, and DC. A handwheel enables manual operation. The IP68 enclosure per EN 60529 provides high-quality corrosion protection (KS) and operates within -30°C to +70°C. Output drive types conform to DIN and ISO standards.

Common Problems

• No reaction to operation commands: First confirm the reaction time setting, then check for mechanical blockage or power supply issues.

• Torque fault in OPEN or CLOSE direction: Inspect the valve for obstruction and verify torque switch settings. Excessive valve friction may also trigger this fault.

• Mechanical position indicator cannot be set: The reduction gearing may not match the actuator's turns/stroke. Replace it with a suitable reduction gearing.

• Actuator runs to end stop although limit switches work properly: Review limit switch settings and end position configuration.

• Motor winding temperature too high: Check whether the actuator sizing matches the application. Confirm the duty cycle is correct.
