1. Description:
Silicone-coated glass fiber cloth is made of glass fiber cloth coated with specially bonded silicone rubber on one or both sides. Physiologically inert silicone rubber, not only increases the strength, but also has the properties of heat insulation, fire resistance, and ozone resistance, and can prevent the effects of oxygen aging, weather aging and oil.
Silicone Coating on FIberglass can be done in two ways:
Knife Coating: Used For liquid silicone generally for lower coating weight where the Silicone encapsulates the fiberglass fabric giving more softer fabric of lower thickness. [About 40-180g Silicone for each side]
Calendaring: Dry Silicone is laminated onto fiberglass fabric giving high coating weight pick-up and a fabric that is stronger and thicker up to 5 mm thickness [About 500-1500g Silicone for each side]
