API 6A Wellhead Spool Ring Gasket for Sealing Type BX SS316
The BX ring gaskets are one type of the wellhead RTJ ring gasket, it is square in cross section and tapers in each corner and manufactured according to API 6A. All BX ring type joints incorporate a pressure passage hole to allow for pressure equalization each side of the sealing faces. On assembly, metal to metal contact of the flange faces is achieved. They can only be used in API 6BX flanges. BX is used at pressures up to 15,000 psi. There are different materials of the ring gasket are available including low carbon steel, 304 and 316.
