T- Marine Turbocharger Parts / T- TCR12 Silencer For Marine Diesel, Biofuel And Gas Engines

T- / T- TCR series turbocharger features:

T- TCR12 silencer (also called filter silencer, whispering silencer and air outlet silencer) belongs to one part of T- / T- TCR series turbocharger which has the features as below:

  • Engine outputs from 350 kW to 7M;
  • Radial flow design;
  • Increased efficiency due to improved compressor wheel and turbine design;
  • Constant and pulse pressure turbocharging;
  • Low moment of inertia for best dynamic behavior;
  • New compressor wheel fixation for easy servicing;
  • Un-cooled casings;
  • Pipe-less design with integrated oil inlet and oil drain;
  • No sealing air required;

Applications

Marine propulsion, excavators, locomotives, power generation, off-road vehicles, machanical drive, mining, marine gensets.

T- TCR12 turbocharger silencer description:

As all knew, turbochargers have been extensively used in diesel engines to improve their perforce. However, due to their operation at high speeds, turbochargers are susceptible to noise generation such as whine (narrow band) and whoosh (broadband). While unbalanced blades contribute to the former, the latter is due to turbulence. Such noise can be radiated from the structure, especially from the duct segment between the compressor and intercooler. The characteristics of turbocharger noise have been addressed that the compressor outlet was a major contributor to the overall intake system noise and experimentally demonstrated the effectiveness of a thicker wall and a resonator to reduce turbocharger noise that is a silencer could reduce both whine and broadband noise.
