Melamine moulding compound is an engineered thermosetting material produced by condensation polymerization of melamine and formaldehyde. During compression molding, heat causes the molecules to cross-link into an infusible network with heat-resistant properties up to 150°C.
The manufacturing process precisely blends melamine powder with formaldehyde, wood flour, and additives that control characteristics like heat tolerance, electrical insulation and mechanical strength. Blended powder is compressed and cured in molds to form rugged plastic components.
This advanced material offers superior performance over conventional plastics. It demonstrates heat resistance without discoloring or decomposing under 150°C.
