Urea moulding compounds ( thermosetting plastics) are amino moulding compounds composed of urea formaldehyde and alpha cellulose as filling material with the addition of lubricant , hardening agent & pigments.
Thermosets offer many advantages over basic thermoplastics and are suitable for compression , transfer or injection moulding.They are produced in a precise and vibrant range of colors. They are available in powder (which gives much better surface) or granular form.
Thermosets are strong , glossy , durable and highly resistant to scratches and staining.They are not affected by fats , oils , esters , solvent agents , petrol , alcohol or solvent nor by detergents or weak acids & weak alkalis.
