The Base / Mechanism Housing

This is the bottom part of the container that holds the elevating mechanism.

• Material: Almost always made of polypropylene (PP) plastic. PP is chosen for its stiffness, durability, chemical resistance (it won't react with the deodorant ingredients), and cost-effectiveness. Some premium or zero-waste brands might use post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic or even metal (like aluminum).

• Mechanism: Inside the base is a simple screw mechanism.

  • A threaded column rises from the center of the base.

  • A twist knob at the bottom of the base engages with this thread. When the user rotates the knob, the threaded column moves up or down, pushing the platform with it.

• Design: The base is usually slightly wider than the tube to provide stability and prevent tipping over. It often features ribbing or grooves for better grip while twisting.
