The Tube / Barrel

This is the main body that holds the deodorant balm itself.

• Material: Most commonly polypropylene (PP). It must be compatible with the product's ingredients (especially essential oils and butter, which can degrade some plastics). Clear tubes are sometimes made from PET or PETG to allow the customer to see the product. For ultra-premium or sustainable brands, glass or metal tubes exist but are less common due to weight, cost, and breakability concerns.

• Design:

  • The top has a keyhole-shaped opening or a simple round hole. This is a critical design feature. The shape is not just for aesthetics; it is ergonomically designed to comfortably fit the contours of the underarm during application, allowing the balm to be spread easily.

  • The tube fits snugly over the base, often with a click or snap fit, or sometimes a crimped seal that can be broken on first use.

  • Many tubes have a cap.
