Metal Pall Ring packing, developed in the 1940s by BASF, features sheet metal construction with approximately 35% of the total ring wall area. Compared to Raschig rings, Pall rings incorporate multiple openings in the ring wall that allow gas and liquid to flow freely through the windows, significantly improving distribution within the tower and enhancing separation performance.
