The metal ring gasket is a solid metal gasket with an octagonal or elliptical cross-sectional shape processed from metal materials, which has a radial self-tightening sealing effect. Therefore, the metal ring gasket is in contact with the inner and outer sides (mainly the outer side) of the trapezoidal groove of the flange by the gasket, and the seal is formed by pressing. Metal ring gasket is used in pipe flanges, valves, pressure vessels, submarine, high-speed joint surface, high temperature and high pressure valve cover and other pressure joint.
Types:
Ring-joint gaskets shall be either octagonal or ovalin cross section.
Size:
Ring-joint gaskets shall be identifed by an R,RX,or BX number that relates to fange size (NPS),pressureclass,and the appropriate fange standards(ASMEB16.5,ASME B16.47,or API Specification 6A).
