VLAN Tagged/Untagged Gigabit Ethernet Network Tap
VLAN Tagging, Untagging, Replacement and Stripping in Network Packet Brokers

The interface adds or deletes VLAN tags from Ethernet data frames during transmission and reception, depending on the interface type and default VLAN configuration.

  • When receiving untagged frames: All interface types tag frames with VLAN IDs, with different acceptance criteria
  • When receiving tagged frames: All interfaces validate VLAN ID against allowed list before acceptance
  • When sending frames: Access always strips tags, Trunk strips only matching PVID, Hybrid is configurable
