 screw conveyor are of simple, relatively low cost construction compared to other conveyor systems. Powder Handling Productive Auger Conveyor consist of a helical flight fastened around a pipe or solid shaft, mounted within a tubular or U-shaped trough. As the screw rotates,material heaps up in front of the advancing flight and is pushed through the trough.Particles in the heap next to the flight surface are carried part way up the flight surface,and then flow down on the forward-moving side of the heap.Products can be conveyed and elevated at the same time by mounting a screw conveyor at an incline. This is often desirable because it covers two operations with one piece of equipment therefore saving space and reducing downtime,maintenance cost, etc. A standard Electric Screw Conveyor will often operate normally at angles up to 15º with only a small loss in capacity. Beyond that, adjustments and/or modifications are typically necessary.
