Zirconium Pipe Fittings are a kind of metal with strong corrosion resistance, which is suitable for chemical corrosion-resistant equipment. Its acid resistance is better than that of titanium and various steels, and close to that of tantalum. Zirconium is also quite stable in alkali solution.
It is widely used in heat exchange equipment, such as tubular heat exchanger, coil heat exchanger, serpentine heat exchanger, condenser, evaporator and pipeline.

Zirconium Corrosion Resistance
Zirconium pipe is very often specified for highly-corrosive industrial applications and frequently used in processes in which chlorides are a component. These and other very corrosive chemicals are damaging to lesser materials. This corrosion can rapidly lead to repair and/or replacement of the equipment in short time frame, causing expensive and highly disruptive process stoppage.

Zirconium and gas have strong affinity. They react with oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen at about 200, 300 and 400 ℃ respectively. The reaction is rapid at higher temperature. Therefore, the melting and heat treatment should be carried out in vacuum furnace. When heat processing is carried out in the atmosphere, proper protection measures shall be taken and the operation time under high temperature shall be shortened
