Carbide burrs are usually divided into two types: single cut and double cut (diamond cut)
  Single-edge (one-edge) carbide files have a right-handed (upper edge) spiral edge. They are usually used with stainless steel, hardened steel, copper, cast iron and ferrous metals, and will quickly remove material with a smooth surface. Used for mass cutting, milling, deburring and cleaning.

Double-cut carbide burrs are commonly used in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aluminum, mild steel, and all non-metallic materials, such as plastics and wood. They have more cutting edges and can remove material faster. Sometimes two cuts are called "diamond cuts" or "cross cuts" (cutting into two edges with each other), because they produce less chips when cutting off material, so they have a smoother finish than single cuts. For medium to light blank removal, deburring, finishing and cleaning. Double cutting carbide burr is the most popular cutting method, it will help you in most applications.
