Product Introduction
Working Principle and Function
This product is an inertial angular rate sensor based on the Sagnac effect principle, designed to measure angular rate movement of the carrier around the sensor's sensitive axis. The unit utilizes a fiber optic coil as the angular rate sensitive unit with closed-loop detection circuitry.
Two beams from a laser are injected into the same fiber in opposite directions. Due to the Sagnac effect, the beam traveling against rotation experiences a slightly shorter path delay. The resulting differential phase shift is measured through interferometry, translating angular velocity into measurable interference pattern shifts.
Beam splitting optics launch light from a laser diode into two waves propagating clockwise and anticlockwise through a multi-turn optical fiber coil. The Sagnac effect strength depends on the effective area of the closed optical path, enhanced by the number of coil turns.
This inertial sensor comprises optical systems, power supply, and data processing circuits, providing three-axis angle increment information.
