Proper Measurement Procedure: Hold the instrument at its center and gently place it on the specimen surface. Read the value within 1 second after the presser foot makes smooth contact with the sample. For improved accuracy, position the sample on flat plate glass. Each measuring point should be tested only once, with at least 5 measurement points spaced more than 25mm apart. Calculate the average of these measurements to determine the material's hardness value.
