1. Introduction
ES fiber, short for "ethylene propylene side by side" fiber, is a type of polyolefin fiber composed of a low melting point bi-component composite. This fiber is produced using the composite spinning method, which involves extruding two types of slices with different low melting points through a twin-screw spinning machine. The two components combine to form the cross-section, which can be either "skin-core type" or "parallel type". Due to the different melting points of the two components, the surface layer melts at a certain heating temperature while the core layer remains solid. This unique property makes ES fiber highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications in the textile industry.
