For temperatures above -100℃, valve stems and bolts use Ni, Cr-Mo alloy steels with proper heat treatment to enhance tensile strength and prevent thread seizure. For temperatures below -100℃, austenitic stainless acid-resistant steel is used. To prevent scratching and packing leakage, valve stems are surface-hardened with chrome plating (0.04-0.06mm thickness) or nitriding/nickel-phosphorus plating. Nuts typically use Mo or Ni steel with molybdenum disulfide coating on threads to prevent seizing.
