Paper Machine Blind Hole Press Roller with 600-1700mm Diameter and 15-40mm Rubber Thickness for Efficient Dewatering
The Blind Hole Press Roll features numerous drilled holes of specific depths on its surface, typically arranged in two or three different depth sizes. These holes do not connect to the atmosphere or vacuum system, hence the name "blind hole".
The pressing system utilizing blind hole press rolls is called blind hole press. These rollers are either rubber-coated or polyurethane-coated on an iron roller core. The rubberized surface contains blind holes measuring 2mm in diameter and 12-15mm in depth, which can also be drilled in different depths with alternate row arrangements.
- Opening rate of approximately 25%-30%
- Hole volume about 5 times larger than groove press rollers, accommodating more squeeze water
- Solid parts are more durable than groove pressure rollers
- Can be covered with softer layers (70-90 Shore hardness) to reduce felt wear
- Provides wider nip for increased pressure line pressure
- Allows significantly more regrinding compared to grooved rollers before requiring recoating

The primary function in the press section is mechanical dewatering of the fiber mat. Increasing dry content before the dryer section reduces energy requirements, making the paper manufacturing process more efficient and cost-effective. The blind hole design maximizes dewatering efficiency for optimal performance.
