Glass Melting Process Stages
Silicate Formation
During heating, batch materials undergo solid-phase reactions that release gaseous products, ultimately forming opaque sinter composed of silicate and SiO2.
Glass Liquid Formation
The sinter melts to create flint glass liquid containing numerous bubbles, though chemical composition remains uneven at this stage.
Clearing Process
Continuous heating reduces viscosity, allowing gaseous impurities and visible bubbles to escape from the liquid pool.
Homogenization
Extended high-temperature exposure eliminates ripples through diffusion, creating uniform glass liquid. Homogenization temperatures are typically lower than clearing temperatures.
