Acrylic impact modifier is a multi-graft copolymer manufactured through emulsion polymerization using butyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate monomers. This advanced material features a "core-shell" structure where the cross-linked Poly-BA rubber core is surrounded by a grafted Poly-MMA plastic shell.
Technical Mechanism
The Poly-MMA shell enables excellent compatibility with PVC resin due to similar solubility parameters. During processing, the rubber phase distributes uniformly in tiny spherical formations within the PVC matrix, creating a distinctive "sea-island" structure that effectively absorbs and disperses impact energy.
