Poor-boy degasser Description

Poor-boy degasser also refers to the mud-gas separator is important and safe equipment used in the whole drilling mud system. It's a "KICK off" device to eliminate the potential danger. In a complete mud system, the separator will be set behind and connect with the chock manifold. So under the gravity, the fluids flow into mud gas separator, and under the collision on internal blades, the harmful gas will flow up to the vent line. The gas will flow away through the vent line. The vent line should be connected with the flare ignition device to burn them out

Furthermore, according to mud gas separator design on the bottom and the support base, there is poor boy degasser and gas buster. But nowadays, people usually treat the mud gas separator as the poor boy degasser. There is no such strict definition as before.

At AIPU Solids control, the mud gas separator popular type is APMGS1000, APMGS1200. However, sometimes users will request special design for special conditions. For example, there are APMGS600, APMGS800, APMGS1400. The difference is vessel diameter and the handling capacity. Different size degasser holding different size discharge line.

What is the customizable option on the liquid-gas separator?

Firstly, the material can be common carbon steel for some little or none H2S content places or drilling sites, if necessary, we suggest the 16Mn steel sheet to resist the H2S gas. Furthermore, the vessel body's internal diameter can be customized. We have ever made the APMGS500 degasser holding a 500mm diameter. Then, the support legs can be fixed or elevated type. And the vessel can be folded down lay on the special support leg for better protection during transportation.

For the colors, almost poor boy degasser is painted with red color. So we don't suggest other surface coat oil. It means warning and danger.
