 Deep Drawn Metal Stamping process

When the part is pulled (pulled) into the mold cavity and the depth of the groove equals or exceeds the minimum part width, the stamping process is called deep drawing or deep drawing. Deep drawing uses radial stretch-tangential compression to shape metal.

This process transforms a flat metal or blank into a hollow container, which may be cylindrical or box-shaped, with straight or tapered sides or a mixture of straight sides, tapered and curved sides. Then use a series of dies to re-stretch the container to reduce its diameter and increase its length with minimal wall thickness changes
