Description:

Francis turbines are mainly used for power generation. The power output of the generator is usually between 100kw and 20MW.
It performs best when the head height is between 10m and 300m.
The speed range of the different turbosets is from 70 to 1000 rpm.
The guide vanes on the outside of the turbine's rotating runner control the speed of water flow through the turbine at different power generation rates.
Francis turbines are usually mounted with a vertical shaft to isolate the water from the generator.
This also facilitates installation and maintenance.

Principle:
The hydropower system is used to convert the potential energy in water and the energy stored at high places into kinetic energy (energy used in motion). This then moves the turbine and generates electricity.
