His name was James Bicheno Francis, he was born in May18, 1815, and passed away in Sep 18,1892, James B Francis was born in South Leigh, near Witney, Oxfordshire in England, United Kingdom, he began his engineer in the age of 14 as his father working in railway South Wales. At the age of 18, he moved to the United States. Today in order to memorize Mr James Bicheno Francis, Mixed flow water turbine was called Francis hydro turbine.
