General attributes:

LDX 2101 / UNS S32101 / 1.4162 is a nitrogen-containing duplex stainless steel that can provide high strength and good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. This dual-phase steel has 50% ferrite and 50% austenite. Manganese can ensure that austenite and ferrite reach the corresponding balance and reduce the nickel content. The combination of the two-phase structure and a certain N content make the final tensile strength reach 94Ksi (650MPa) compared with 70Ksi (480MPa) of 316 steel. Compared with the hardness of 217H.Br. of 316 steel, the hardness of LDX2101 steel can reach 290H.Br. Its corrosion resistance is better than 304L steel, which is equivalent to 316L steel. The microstructure of LDX2101 steel can make it have very good intergranular corrosion resistance, and it has better uniform corrosion resistance than 304L steel in sulfuric acid, in some cases it has good performance like 316L steel .
