1. Description

Polytetramethylene etherglycol (PTMEG), also known as polytetrahydrofuran (PTG), is a linear polyether glycol with hydroxyl groups at both molecular ends. It is produced through the ring-opening polymerization of tetrahydrofuran.

2. Application

PTMEG exhibits excellent reactivity and is widely used in elastomeric block polymers, offering superior low-temperature elasticity, microbial resistance, and hydrolysis stability. Its applications include polyurethane fiber (spandex), polyurethane elastomers, synthetic leather, coatings, adhesives, sealants, polyester elastomers, and polyamide elastomers.

5. Shelf Life

PTMEG has an approximate shelf life of 2 years when stored in its original, tightly sealed container under dry nitrogen protection at temperatures not exceeding 90°C, ensuring no exposure to air.
