TODI, or dimethylbiphenyl diisocyanate, is typically used to enhance the mechanical properties of polyurethane (PU) products. Polyurethane elastomers (PU Elastomers) manufactured with TODI exhibit excellent heat resistance, hydrolysis resistance, and mechanical performance, making them suitable for operation under harsh conditions and severe environments.
Meanwhile, due to the steric hindrance effect in its molecular structure, TODI has a longer pot life (also known as "active life," referring to the period during which the material maintains processable properties). As a result, prepolymers prepared with TODI offer greater stability and are easier to process and handle.
