Product Description
Rubber to Metal Bonding Adhesive 823GB
Rubber to Metal Bonding Adhesive 823GB is a versatile cover-coat adhesive and an excellent alternative to Thixon 520/526. It's designed to bond a wide range of elastomers to metal substrates during the vulcanization process. This adhesive is formulated without heavy metals and consists of a blend of polymers, organic compounds, and mineral fillers dispersed in an organic solvent system.
Applicable Rubber Types
Used as a cover coat adhesive and in combination with a primer adhesive, suitable for the following types of rubber:
  • Natural rubber (NR)
  • Natural & butadiene rubber (NR+BR)
  • Polyisoprene rubber (IR)
  • Butadiene rubber (BR)
  • Chloroprene rubber (CR)
  • Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR)
  • Nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR)

Application Instructions
Stirring
During storage, some sediment will settle at the bottom of the container. Before painting, it must be thoroughly stirred to achieve uniform mixing before use. If the painting process is long, stir at high speed for 5-10 minutes every 2 hours.
Diluting
This product can be diluted with diluents according to operational needs. It is recommended to dilute according to the amount used. Diluted products should not be stored for a long time.
Application Methods
  • Brush coating method: No dilution required, or 100 parts of 823GB and 10 parts of diluent
  • Roller coating method: No dilution required, or 100 parts of 823GB and 10 parts of diluent
  • Dip: 100 parts of 823GB and 20-30 parts of diluent
  • Spray method: 100 parts of 823GB and 50-100 parts of diluent
Coating
This product can be applied by brushing, dipping, roller coating, or spraying. The coating layer must be uniform to avoid excessive overflow.
Cover Coating
Dry film thickness (DFT): 10-20 μm.
Drying
Drying at room temperature takes approximately 45-60 minutes. Forced drying can shorten the drying time.
Cleaning
Prior to heat vulcanization, use a rag soaked in xylene to remove any excess treatment agent spilled on surrounding areas. Once cured, the agent cannot be removed with solvents.
Vulcanization
Simultaneous vulcanization of the rubber and adhesive achieves optimal bonding performance. Once the coated component is placed into the mould, rubber should be promptly injected into the mould for vulcanization. Actual curing parameters are determined by the curing specifications of the rubber compound.
Shelf Life & Storage
Shelf life is 12 months from date of shipment when stored at <37℃ in original, unopened container. Do not store or use near heat, sparks or open flame.
Precautions
  • This product is volatile - close the container after use
  • Solvent steam is harmful - maintain proper ventilation and fire prevention measures
  • Avoid long-term inhalation or skin contact
  • Refer to SDS for complete safety information
