Testing Methods
NSS Test (Neutral Salt Spray Test)
The most widely used accelerated corrosion test method utilizing 5% saline solution with pH 6-7, test temperature of 35°C, and salt spray precipitation rate of 1-2ml/80cm² per hour.
ASS Test (Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test)
Developed from NSS test with added glacial acetic acid to achieve pH 3 acidic solution, resulting in corrosion speed approximately 3 times faster than NSS.
CASS Test (Copper-Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray Test)
Rapid salt spray corrosion test with added copper salt, test temperature of 50°C, delivering corrosion speed approximately 8 times faster than NSS test.
Alternating Salt Spray Test
Composite test combining neutral salt spray with constant temperature humidity testing, primarily used for cavity-type products to evaluate both surface and interior corrosion effects on electrical and mechanical performance.
